Frequently asked questions
Everything people usually ask us before their first Power Plates lunch.
What is Power Plates?
A community built around shared meals. We host a monthly lunch, casual brewery meetups, and the occasional restaurant crawl, all open to anyone who wants to meet new people and grow their network over good food.
Who can join?
Anyone. Most members come from the local business community, but you don't need to know anyone or work in any particular industry to show up.
How much does it cost?
Power Plates itself is free to join. At lunches and meetups, you cover your own food and drinks at the venue.
How do I find out about the next event?
Join the newsletter. Every lunch, meetup, and special event is announced there first, with the date, location, and RSVP link. You can also check the Events page any time.
Do I need to RSVP?
For the monthly lunch, yes, RSVP through the link in the newsletter so we can plan tables. Brewery meetups are drop-in, no RSVP needed.
How do I become a Featured Member?
By showing up and being part of the community. We pick a Featured Member each month based on who's been active at events, not through any kind of payment or sponsorship. See the Members page for the full archive.
Can I suggest a restaurant or a book?
Always. Reply to any newsletter or reach out directly, and your pick might end up on the Places We Ate or Books of the Month pages.
I run a business. Can I promote it at an event?
Power Plates is about building real relationships first. Plenty of business comes out of these lunches naturally, but hard-selling at the table isn't what the group is for.
